Are you familiar with Peyton Manning? Well, if not, you are about to learn a lot. Peyton Manning is the quarterback of the Indianapolis Colts. He has accomplished many achievements throughout his life and is still adding to his long resume.

He was born on March 24, 1976, in New Orleans, Louisiana. His father is 2 time pro bowl quarterback Archie Manning. Peyton also has two football playing brothers. His older brother, Cooper, was a WR at Ole Miss until he suffered a career ending spinal cord injury. His younger brother, Eli, is the quarterback of the super bowl champion New York Giants. In high school, Peyton not only played football, but he also played basketball for two years and was the starting shortstop for the baseball team. Manning owns many records at his high school where he won 35 out of 44 games and won the Gatorade high school player of the year for the state of Louisiana in his senior year. After high school, he chose to attend the University of Tennessee. The Tennessee Volunteers won a bowl game in 3 of the 4 years Manning attended the university. Although he won many awards, he did not win the Heisman trophy, finishing runner up to Charles Woodson his Senior year.

After college, he was drafted first overall in 1998 by the Indianapolis Colts. Starting all 16 games his rookie season. Manning set many rookie records but the Colts finished an unsatisfactory 3-13. In 2003, Manning shared the MVP honors with quarterback Steve McNair. 2004 was a record setting season for Peyton Manning, breaking the record for TDs in a season with 49 and passer rating with 121.1. That year, Manning won his second straight NFL MVP. In 2005, although the season ended with a disappointing loss to the Steelers in the playoffs, Peyton came in 2nd in voting for the MVP award. In 2006, the Indianapolis Colts won their first Super bowl since 1970. Peyton was awarded super bowl MVP after throwing for 247 yards and 1 touchdown.
