Now that I have completed the course, I do feel like my expectations have been met in terms of what I know about business writing. I do feel like I can hold my own (so to speak) in the business world. I do however feel like what I’ve learned from this class can still be expanded so that I can become a much better and sufficient writer. I feel like I have attained a lot of knowledge so far when it comes to memos and other short and precise documents that may need to be presented to someone in the business world more superior than me; however I still need to develop my skills when it comes to analytical report writing and other long documents that I may encounter. As far as my confidence in approaching other technical writing tasks I feel a little hesitant. I’m not saying this because of the professor or the book; but instead because I really don’t feel as if I dedicated myself and my efforts to this class. I feel as if I overextended myself a little too much by taking two classes and working full time this winter term. However with a little more practice I do believe that I will become confident in my writing. As I stated previously, I’m very comfortable with the idea of writing memos now than I was a few weeks ago so I see that as a very big and gratifying accomplishment.
