Play Activity

Aim
From observing the children throughout the duration of my work experience I have noticed that they are keen to express their creativity. They have a strong imagination and displayed the ability to add stories their pictures. I aim to adhere to their creative strengths and enjoyment of storytelling by creating an arts and crafts related activity that will allow them to incorporate role play into their art activity. This particular age group are at the developmental stage that thoroughly enjoys role play.
Rationale
For this activity I have chosen to make masks with the children to allow them to express themselves through role play. This will allow them to be imaginative and create any character they desire. This is an important form of play for this age group and I feel it is my job as the care taker to accommodate it. I have chosen this activity as I feel it will promote all areas of their holistic development in a fun and easy way that all the children can participate in.
Introduction
For this activity I will be working with a class of twenty between the age of three and four. I am working in the vicinity of Park Academy crèche in Cherrywood.
