Could “playing God” ever be right?

I believe from the moment of conception a single life has been created, a gift from God. I would like to refer to the Parable of the talents “Matthew 25:14-30”. In this parable servants were given talents to work with. One servant made lots more money, one made some more money and one made no money at all. This servant was banished. This parable shows that we are all different and that God gives us all a chance to use the talents he has given to us wisely or unwisely. If abortion robs us of this opportunity to develop then we cannot carry out God’s will.

Furthermore Christians believe that children hold a special place in Gods eyes. There are pro-life groups in UK and Ireland, such as The Society for the Protection of unborn Children (SPUC) and LIFE. These organisations and I believe in the value of all human life, including the lives of unborn children. Our aims should be to educate people about the wrongs of abortion and how Jesus had love for everyone. An example of this has taken from “Matthew 18:12-14” Here the lost sheep is looked for after it gets lost. “In the same way your Father in Heaven is not willing that any of these little ones is lost”.

God believes that human life is of equal value and is unrepeatable “so god created human beings, making them to be like himself" Genesis 1:27. I know that the anxiety a mother experiences during pregnancy is not a reliable indicator of how she may feel once the baby is born. This may suggest that women should continue with the pregnancy and if their feelings don’t change then opt for adoption. In this way the life of the innocent child is protected. I have read the scriptures and know abortion should be forbidden “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these”. Luke 18: 16.
