As one of the most important presidential elections in history creeps near, the candidates become more headstrong and the news coverage is increased immensely. The recent debate between Senator Barrack Obama and Senator John McCain was crucial to the current race as it was the most watched presidential debate since 1995. But still, many people are asking themselves who would be better for this struggling economy? The winner of the past debate could change ones mind.
As the candidates answered questions from citizens, they explained what they would do to help the United States in this financial crisis. While Senator Barrack Obama stated facts and reasons, Senator John McCain pointed fingers. But after every finger pointed, Barrack Obama had a rebuttal. For instance, John McCain accused Obama of voting for every increase in spending that he had seen come across the floor, Obama responded saying, that was an untrue statement and he wants to eliminate programs that don’t work and make sure those that do work, work better and cheaper. He also said that the government needs to look at the tax spending and that his opponent, John McCain wants to continue giving tax cuts to the wealthy, but not the middle class, like President Bush, which eliminates money from the system. Just in the one question round Obama both proved McCain wrong and stated a reason why he was not a good choice for president. He remained strong throughout the debate.
Body language says a lot to people. In the debate, John McCain’s was dreadful. He paced the floor while he was talking like he was nervous which could mean he was intimidated or not that informed. He was also making faces as Obama was speaking that could lead one to think that he was angry or upset. This proves the fact which the media has been saying since the race started, that Senator John McCain has a bad temper.
