Professional Knowledge and Abilities
The purpose of this paper is to indicate how professional organization or associations can impact ones career. In this narrative the author will discuss her interest in a professional organization and will site how that organization will contribute towards increasing professional knowledge and abilities and how this can impact a career in the accounting field.
The American Institute of Certified Public Accountants
“The American Institute of Certified Public Accountants is the national, professional organization for all Certified Public Accountants (www.aicpa.org 2009).” The AICPA has committed to supplying its members with opportunities, career news, and the leadership skills that allow its members to furnish premium services in a foremost professional manner to help employers, customers and the public. In meeting these commitments, the AICPA has shaped a partnership with state Certified Public Accountant organizations and awards preference in regions where mass dependence on CPA proficiency is of greatest importance.
Increasing Professional Knowledge and Abilities
The American Institute of Certified Public Accountants can contribute towards increasing ones professional knowledge and abilities as “today's CPA is viewed as a valued strategic partner and is considered an integral part of any business' success (www.aicpa.org 2009).” The AICPA grooms one to accept this job, no matter the practice one chooses to engage, “whether business and industry, public accounting, consulting, government or education (www.aicpa.org 2009).” It does not make a difference where ones career may take him or her, The American Institute of Certified Public Accountants is available and ready to supply the education, professional expertise, programs, services and publication resources needed to hold one on the pinnacle of his or her professional career.
