Professionalism and Meeting Deadlines
Professionalism and meeting deadlines are intertwined with each other. A part of practicing professionalism is actually meeting deadlines in the workplace. I’ll start with professionalism; most people can recognize professionalism or the lack of it in others. Professionalism is defined as: the status, methods, character or standards of a professional or of a professional organization. Examples of showing professionalism could be: good time keepers, being in before time and also uses their time wisely and well. One who is able to communicate effectively, whatever the circumstances and listens actively. It is a person who manages their time well and works well under pressure, also one who fulfills deadlines. There are many more examples and characteristics of professionalism and ways to display them. A person who is professional demonstrates a rounded personality. They are able to act as a good role model for their colleagues, many have the ability to take the rough with the smooth and they never take their frustrations out on others. Could also be defined as one who behaves appropriately in all and any situation, a person who knows when to speak out and when to bite their tongue. A professional is open to the views of others and the possibility that there might be a better way than theirs. This is an area employers take into consideration when interviewing a potential employee. In the workplace you should always demonstrate professionalism at all times. If you are eager to succeed in any career you definitely need to demonstrate the appropriate levels of professionalism. In some relation to professionalism is meeting deadlines. Deadlines are something most of all strive to make but some of us fail to meet them. Meeting deadlines pretty much means what it sounds like.
