Information Systems Proposal for Nostalgic Record Store






Introduction
Music has grown immensely with the evolving times of the world. Music has completely evolved going from old vintage vinyl records to mp3 files. Where else to store all these items under one roof, but under a roof of a small, brick and mortar, nostalgic record store. For, a nostalgic record store to be successful, the record store would have to rely heavily on information systems. According to Rainer and Cegielski (2001), “An information system (IS) collects, processes, stores, analyzes, and disseminates information for a specific purpose. A computer-based information system (CBIS) is an information system that uses computer technology to perform some or all of its intended tasks” (p. 38). There are a variety of information systems that could work for this business. It is critical to find the right systems to work for this business, because they can assist owners to run a successful business, but the wrong systems could cost the owners a lot of money on systems that are not useful.

Business Description
The small, brick and mortar record store will consist of both old and new music. Clients will be able to purchase both online and in the store. The owners will discuss and provide different information systems to help start and run the record store successfully. Some processes that may require for information systems include:
