Issues and Conclusions


This essay will cover several articles about the differences between conclusions and opinions. There are two videos, I watched based on happiness and money. Wealth and the Inflated Self: Class Entitlement, and Narcissism and article by Paul K. Piff. is another article I will discuss and give my viewpoints on. The last two items I will cover are my classmates viewpoints and a Daniel Kahnemen quote about memory.
A conclusion are judgements or decisions that can be made after viewing evidence or different hypotheses. Opinions are ideas, thoughts and beliefs that are not necessarily based on facts and have not been proven or verified. A conclusion is a thought process. The information that you gather, you combine to create a single opinion or idea. We use a variety of perspectives to generate a solid belief. It’s important to read carefully and extract the most important points and then form a final conclusion. The main difference between opinions and conclusions are the support and evidence showed for them. I personally believe more people in today’s society, believe more in opinions.
The video clip “The Riddle of Experience vs Memory” by Daniel Kahnemon, talks about how we perceive happiness. It was very interesting because we are all so different. We all process things differently and we are accountable for our own happiness. Mr Kahnemon, refer’s to how we perceive happiness today as a memory and not living in the now. It’ s easier for society at large to think we’re in a good place, but we are real confusing ourselves. I wasn’t a fan of this video, Daniel Kahnemon may have thirty years of scientific and philosophic study. But, I never really understood what he was try to say. The video “Take Two Normal people, Add Money to just one of Them, and Watch What happens next”, is i about wealth- or lack of it-that makes people behave they way they do.
