1.1 In identifying the needs of our learners my team need to carry out an initial assessment of the learners needs. Prior to our learners booking onto our course they are required to complete an initial assessment form. This helps to identify any additional support or changes that may be required and to ascertain current skills and knowledge. All learners will vary in their ability as no two students learn in the same way. Identifying any challenges or barriers to learning at this stage will help. The more you can find out about the learner prior to training will help support a successful training session and to ensure the learners needs are met. All learners should have full details of the course, timings and venue prior to training session. We must follow all organisational policies and procedures in the planning and the delivery of training to ensure our staff our fully competent to full fill their job roles.
1.2 A training plan should be designed with clear aims and objectives that should also be realistic. This could be tailored to meet the needs of our learners that we have identified through the initial assessment form. Appropriate materials and resources should be identified. We should create a safe, positive and accessible training environment for our learners. Liaising with co-workers and current end users would benefit in the planning of the training sessions. We should ensure that our training incorporates Equality & Diversity as all learners will be from different back grounds, ages, abilities etc.
1.3 Once our learners are signed up to our courses full course details should be sent out with a clear instruction of where the course is being held and any parking facilities or charges that they need to be aware of. Full details should also be sent out to our learners line manager.
