Purpose of College
Attending college serves many purposes for me. College can provide a gateway for job opportunities. It can help promote responsibility and serve as a motivation tool for my children. College can be major a gateway for job opportunities for me. Obtaining a college degree gives me an advantage when applying for jobs. Jobs that once only required a high school diploma are now requiring some type of college degree. With a college education I am able to demand higher pay on the job. This will allow for me to better provide for my family.
There is a sense of responsibility that comes with attending college. I have learned that no one is going to give me anything. The tools are there and available, but I must apply myself. There is a sense of self pride when I have accomplished something that I have never done before. College has not only driven me to do more but given a boost to my self confidence.
My going to college serves e as a good motivational tool for my children. It gives them an example of what hard work and determination can accomplish. By returning to college after all these years it shows them that it’s never too late to follow a dream. They are also my motivation to keep moving forward no matter how hard it gets. It makes me proud to know that I am having a positive effect on their lives.
