Quantitative Reasoning for Business
I think the advantages and skills gained of studying the Quantitative Reasoning for Business course are extremely important and crucial for any manager to be, especially theirs correlations with finance, economics, accounting, operations, and research.
QRB is not just a pure math course, QRB is the ability to implement and interpret mathematical skills to understand our data driven society and diverse workplace. Topics to be covered through this course include probability, geometry, algebra, descriptive statistics, functions, logic, and mathematical modeling; all these topics will be discussed from a business prospective which would have outstanding results.
One of these skills is mathematical modeling that is applicable in different business aspects, such as risk management, pricing, capital budgeting, and cash budgets. Furthermore, QRB will give me a better understanding of the revenue and profits of the business, how to increase sales in different ways, how to define a problem, analyze it then come up with the right decision. Forecasting as well is one of the most valuable skills that will be learned though this course, where it will give me the ability to collect all the available data and try to predict the growth in sale, and consequently the raw materials need to be purchased, and so many more applications.
QRB also focuses on understanding graphs and charts and how to extract information out of these graphs, where this information could be interpreted in solving a problem, taking a decision or simply plan for the future.
I believe that QRB course will build the fundamental skills for the upcoming courses so, I will have a better understanding for the new concepts and theirs applications, my brain will start thinking in more effective and business oriented direction, and the capability of applying all this at work and in my own life as well. QRB will give me the most the skill of seeing what lies below the surface...
