Race to Your Destination

Race to Your Destination

Smile

Have you ever been in a hurry, racing to get to your destination and you then come to a yellow light? You think you can make it, so you decide to speed up to beat the light. Once you’re in the middle of the intersection you have a sense of relief that you didn’t have to sit at the boring red light, then out of no where there is a bright flash. Your first instinct is the flash was a police officer coming after you, and then you realized your picture has been taken by the traffic light camera. Once your picture is taken, your whole day and maybe week has been ruined by the nuisance of an inconvenient ticket you will receive in the mail.
These traffic light cameras have frustrated us, or someone we know by either receiving a ticket or making you stop and wait at an unnecessary red light. Questions race through our minds, why the extreme action taken to give aggravating tickets to people, especially those who obey the law. These cameras are only stationed at select intersections, but will soon spread to be more popular throughout the cities, states, and the country. These cameras might even spread to stop signs or even crosswalks to give j-walkers tickets also.
The traffic light camera is an unnecessary device used to control the law and should be taken away to prevent further turmoil, frustration, and confusion of all drivers across America. These lights are just another pain in the butt given by the government to try and control the law better. The only thing is that this law breaking situation isn’t serious enough to place cameras on every traffic light and give tickets to all the ‘law breakers’.
I’m sure these cameras were placed at the intersections for good intentions. These lights have struck fear of getting a ticket into people. With this fear many people take less chances of beating the red light. This includes all the reckless speedy drivers who are the cause of wrecks. With these cameras many wrecks have been prevented.
