Rashaad Carter Ms. Singh ENGL 110 February 19, 2009 What is your philosophy of work? What is your philosophy of work? Is it something just to get you to the weekend? No, work has an intrinsic value. When asked why work, the answer you may receive is probably survival or to earn a living. Personally I think we should commit ourselves to work hard and find satisfaction in it. We should expect frustration on the regular in a job experience. Even though frustration is involved, that should not cause us to give up or substitute leisure as a primary outlet for fulfillment. For example, Bell Hooks interviewed a lady named C.J. and she said “I went to college with a mission and a passion to have my work is about African Americans. I want to play in the National Football League. It is going to take a lot of work but in the end it will be worth it. Another passion I have wants to manage a business. I plan to get this degree and if my choice doesn’t work out, I might go back to school so...
