Creating something from nothing is hard to do. The Revolution changed the way people in the new colonies wanted to live their lives. The framers of the Constitution understood this and wanted to create a government that was nothing like what they lived under for so long. This new government was to be about the people that were here, the ones that would come here, and for future generations that would live in this country. The framers wanted this government to be about the people and for the people. Trying to create this new government was not easy and would hit quite a few bumps in the road. In the end, they would find the right path and everyone would be able to agree to what was going to be established and be satisfied with it.
The Articles of Confederation was a great start in forming a government after the Declaration of Independence was signed but it would not be good enough. There were problems with it. They could not collect money from the states to run the newly formed government. When it came to foreign affairs, the new government was not able to speak as one nation because they could not agree on how to handle these types of situations. In order to change anything in the Articles, all thirteen states had to agree on the change or it stayed the same. All of this and poor leadership let to people wanting to change this way if governing. Shay’s rebellion was one of the reasons for this change. Money was scarce and the Massachusetts government was over taxing the people. They were not able to pay their loans and chaos erupted. These violent acts lead to the creation of the Constitutional Convention.
The Constitutional Convention was created so a more formal government and document could be created. Fifty-five men from almost every state came to hear and be heard about what need to go into this...
