Recreational Therapist

In are nation there are many people who are physically and mentally ill or disabled. These people usually who come to a to a certain type of doctor these people are usually born or was became physically or mentally ill or disabled or became it threw some kind of accident causing these disabilities. When at this doctor the doctors usually help them with these problems and do him or her best to fix it. These doctors help in many different environments such as hospitals. That is why I chose to be a recreational therapist through career cruising.

What a recreational therapist does is use a wide range of techniques to improve or maintain client’s physical or mental health. Some of these techniques that are use are sports , games, drama, and several others. They must also evaluate a client based on standardized assessments, observations, medical reasons; staff, family and others are all taken into consideration .They also monitor the patient progress. Is the main job a recreation therapist.

The type of education needed for this job can vary the most common one is a bachelor’s degree in therapeutic recreation. In some cases people are aloud to get an associates degree in therapeutic recreation or other health care might qualify oneself to be an assistant therapist. You may earn a masters degree or PHD in therapeutic recreation even though you don’t need it to get the job but it will help you advance quicker. If I were to choose my education I would get my masters degree just so I can move up faster. But all these different degrees can help you get a job being a recreational therapist.
