During BIS220 I have learned so much that relates to my current job. My job now works a lot with databases; excel spreadsheets, access, and information system planning. Our company is based around all of these and I am working on them constantly. I thought I knew a lot about these things but didn’t realize how much I didn’t know till I took this class. Access is one of the main programs and most used programs in our office. I only knew of reports, Quires, and tables. I had no clue that there were so many other features like forms, macros, modules and more. I also wasn’t sure how to use quires in access but after reading Chapter 4 and 9 in week two of class it made me realize that I could be so much more for the company if I read these chapters and learn about these functions. I am taking an extra class online just through work to understand how to use the database a little more. Excel is another program in my future that I want to work closely with and really grasp. The information and the functions I did gather and learn to do from the reading, for Excel I am now able to help my personal life by making formulas and figuring out how to budget so that for each check I am able to put away enough money for emergencies, this has helped my personal life with being a bit more organized. Over all I felt like these readings opened my eyes to much more possibilities in my future but I need more hands on with just messing around with them, I typically learn better this way. This class over all was not one of my favorites so far coming into University Of Phoenix but I do feel that it was a class that is going to benefit me in my future.
