Reflections and Reactions of Career Day
Career Day at Cheraw High School was an educational and exciting experience. The sessions I received were Culinary Arts, Multimedia Productions, Mass Communications, and Cosmetology. In each session I learned about different careers. I also had the special privilege to escort some of the speakers to their designated classrooms and socialize with them in the library.
In session I, I went to Culinary Arts which is a major at Johnson & Wales University. They have only a few universities located in the U.S. One is located in Miami, Florida, another in Rode Island, and the closest university to me was in Charlotte, North Carolina. The speaker explained all the easy majors and internships that you could receive while spending your years at the school. She also expressed all the ways that you could get scholarships and grants to get into the school. She made cooking seem very interesting and something that I may want to do in the future.
In session II, the speakers name was Jason. In my opinion he was very cute and I wouldn’t mind working with a guy like him. Other than his looks, he was a major in mass communication and multimedia. He has his own company that is doing very well. His company is mostly based on making documentaries and commercials that are education and shows the world in different eyes other than his own. I really liked this session because I love working with computers, camcorders, and taking photos. In this career it’s required the use of all three. Even though he expressed that this career doesn’t make as much money unless you prevail to go to Hollywood and make big films. I still found this career very intriguing.
In session III, there were three speakers one of the speakers was the owner of The Link and the radio station in Cheraw. There was even someone from The Link newspaper and someone from the radio station. They really didn’t intrigue me and after that presentation I...
