Members for the CNSs team are chosen from different disciplines throughout the hospital, due to this being a hospital wide change. Some of the people that will be represented on her team are as follows, the CNL (clinical Nursing Informatacist) from IT this person is chosen due to their specialty in software and how nurses interact with it. Also from the IT department will be the Director of Informatics. They are chosen due to their knowledge base of the informatics resources of the hospital, as well as knowing what is required for software as well as the available hardware. They will also be able to tell what has worked or not worked in the past. A CPO better known as the Corporate Project Manager is needed to help organize and distribute the information to the different off site areas that need to be aware of the changes taking place at the main building. The team will also need a Chief Medical Information Officer to provide the viewpoint of the doctors and what their needs as well as goals are. This person will also be the go to person for the doctors when the EHR goes live. They will provide knowledge of the hospitals everyday functions that are essential for the new system as well as helping show how the current systems work. They also understand how the nursing units work and what they require in an EHR. The last person needed is a CFO (Chief financial officer). They will direct the team on certain topics that concern governmental funding as well as the current assets. They will also help with creating and maintaining a budget for the new software. The CFO will also work alongside the individual units’ budget makers to make sure they are allocating the needed training hours in a financially pleasing way.
