Riordan's manufacturing strategy
Around the globe, supply chains are improving and adapting to new technologies. Supply chain management and strategies are discussed with new hires in Hangzhou, China. The supply chain management theory can assist Riordan Manufacturing with the functioning of the supply chain connecting and becoming more efficient. The plan is for Riordan Manufacturing to use a competitive strategy and be more environmentally friendly. The customer fulfillment mission of Riordan Manufacturing is to “strive to be a solution provider for our customers and not be a part of our customer’s challenges” (University of Phoenix, 2013, p. 1). Riordan Manufacturing encourages new employees to a form the use of process thinking to improve business practices and better the way tasks are completed.



Performance Metrics
To evaluate the value and effectiveness of the supply chain, certain metrics will have to go through the development process. Considering the ultimate objective of any supply chain practices is the consumer, it is likely that the metrics need to be consumer-oriented (Jacobs & Chase, 2011). From the idea of the supply chain, the proportion of punctual deliveries to the consumers and the number of product defects are two possible metrics that could be used. The former may be used to measure the speed in which the supply chain is carried out and show the ease of the process, and the latter will demonstrate if the speed of delivery is conjoined with quality retention and products maintenance.
