Romeo and Juliet
Act summaries

Act 1: The Prologue starts out describing two families the Montagues and Capulets, who are constantly feuding. The first scene in this act only supports that as the story starts off with a fight between the two families breaking out in town. After the fight Benvolio and Romeo talk and you find out he is upset about losing his love Roasline, then they gain knowledge that Rosaline will be at a party hosted by the Capulets and they decide to go. A few men and Romeo arrive at the party and instantly one of the Capulet men wants to kill Romeo. But doesn’t. Romeo sees Juliet for the first time at this party and forgets all about Rosaline.

Act 2: Romeo waits below Juliet’s window and they talk about their newfound love for each other and even discuss marriage. Juliet says she has to go before someone finds him and promises to send her nurse for him soon. Romeo returns home and tells Friar Laurence of his plans to marry Juliet. Benvolio and Mercutio tease Romeo about his new love and the nurse arrives, Romeo tells her that he’d like to see Juliet at Friar Laurence’s cell and he marries them.

Act 3: Mercutio is killed in a fight against Tybalt, after this Romeo kills Tybalt. When the Prince leanrs of the fight he banishes Romeo from Verona. Juliet’s nurse finds out about Romeo’s banishment and tells Juliet and she is upset. Romeo returns to Juliet to comfort her in secret as her father doesn’t know of her marriage to Juliet. Because he is unaware of this marriage he arranged for Juliet to marry Paris, Juliet gets angry and tried to plead with him to cancel the wedding but he refuses.

Act 4: Paris announces that the wedding is on Thursday and Juliet is not interested. Friar Laurence convinces Juliet to take a potion to fake her death so that Romeo and can take her away, upon finding a way out of her marriage she is o longer mean towards Paris which only makes him happy. One night Juliet takes the potion and her nurse finds...
