Saving the environment one day at a time
You may not be able to reduce global warming, end pollution and save endangered species single-handedly, but by choosing to live an earth-friendly lifestyle you can make a difference. Disney even has a website that children can join to help save the earth one person at a time, it’s called, “friends for change” (Disney Channel.com, n.d.). I am registered with this website because I believe in making a difference one person at a time. Their motto is: “Plant it, grow it, reuse it, restore it, collect it, and volunteer for it. One small thing can make a big difference!” (Disney Channel, n.d.). There are many ways that you can save the environment: cutting down on air pollution by parking in a park and ride and either riding the bus or carpooling with someone going your way. For short trips, walk or ride your bike. “ Families that use public transportation can save enough money annually to cover their food costs for the year” (West, 2005). Eating more fruits, grains and vegetables can help reduce global warming, because raising animals for food produces more greenhouse gas emissions than growing plants. “Raising animals for food also uses enormous amounts of land, water, grain and fuel.
