There is a serious problem occurring on our planet. Over time the large fish population has dramatically declined. Since 1950 scientists say it has dropped 90%. There is only 10% of large fish left in the ocean and that number is shrinking and will continue to do so unless action is taken. This is an issue that will not only affect the environmentalist and the fishermen but it will affect the entire world. If we use up our fish sources then there will be less food to feed people that depend of fishing to live. The declining fish stock problem originated over time as quotas grew larger for fishermen and when demand grew. This is not something that happens over night but has been growing into a larger problem over time. Fortunately this is a problem that can be corrected if actions are taken to do so.
I believe that a corrective action plan that would benefit the environmentalist as well as the fishermen that make a living off of fishing is to just cut back the quota. We need to limit how many fish can be caught according to the type of fish. Even if that means that the sale value in the store for the fish has to go up. It is supply in demand but without the supply then no one will benefit. Commercial fishermen work by catching large amounts of fish to sell. They make their living by fishing and many have every bit of the money invested in the fishing business. It costs them money to have their boat and take the trips out to get the fish. Therefore I do not believe that completely banning commercial fishing is the right plan, but I do think setting a smaller limit for the employers when they set a quota for the fishermen would really do the world good. That way the fishermen have a job and the Earth as her fish.
With my plan I believe that it will be viewed both negatively and positively by both the fishermen and the environmentalist. With every issue and every plan to help fix an issue there will always be someone to argue with it. With...
