THE COMPANY

Titan Watches is a division of Titan Company Limited, A Tata Group Company. Titan Company has various products, which includes Titan Watches, Tanishq, Jewellery, Eyewear, Bags, helmets, Belt, Wallet, and Perfume etc.
In this case study we are concentrating on Titan Watches division. Our focus will be on premium watch segment which is in direct competition with the foreign brands in the same segment.
About Titan Watches:

Started in 1984 by Tata group in a joint venture with Tamilnadu Industrial Development Corporation in Hosur
World’s 5th largest watch manufacturer
Sells about 15 million watches per year in India and internationally
150 Million watches sold so far
60% market share in domestic organized watch sector

THE COMPETITOR

Rolex
Its a brand of wristwatches with operations base at Geneva, Switzerland. It is known to produce watches suitable for variety of sports and adventurous activities like deep-sea diving, aviation etc. Due to this category of watches Rolex seems to perform better than Titan. It is known to produce top class luxury watches with greater designs.Due to a great history, there is a feeling of trust and it is a well –established brand.
