SECURITY PROCEDURE/ALLOCATION OF GUARDS

ENTRANCE 1, 2, 3

One guard will be placed at each one of the entrances and will patrol within a demarcated area.

INSIDE MALL

Two guards will be placed inside the mall to assist the current guards that are stationed at the shops. They will also patrol according to their jurisdiction. These guards will be there only during the day.

EAST ENTRANCE/SERVICE ENTRANCE

One guard will be controlling the entrance where deliveries would be made. It is the responsibility of the shops to arrange a guard to assist with security of their delivery of goods.

PANIC BUTTTON SYSTEM

Each guard, day and night, will be equipped with a panic button system. In the instance whereby the panic button is activated, notification will be directed to all guards and including the supervisor at the security office. He will then respond by radio communication to find the actual scene of the incident. The supervisor will dispatch both the guard driving the quad bike together with the armed response unit. in the interim, he will also call the SAPS to the scene, to assist.

QUAD BIKE

This unit will be used as a quick response to all crime incidents. This will be the first response before the armed response unit and the SAPS. The quad bike will be highly mobile and will have a specific roving pattern per hour of all designated areas.

PATROL VEHICLE/ARMED RESPONSE

This ideally will be the first to respond at the scene but because of the issues of mobility around the parking area, in most cases the quad bike will be there quicker. The vehicle will be on site 24hrs. It will be stationary at a strategic position.
