INTRODUCTION Selangor is the premier state of Malaysia which has the largest population of 4.8 million in Malaysia which consisted of Malays 52.9%, Chinese 27.8%, Indians 13.3% and other ethnic groups 6%. It’s located on the west coast of Peninsular Malaysia. The state is separated in the north by Perak by the line of Bernam River, Pahang to the east, Negeri Sembilan to the south and the Strait of Malacca to the west. (Datuk Abdullah Ali, 2002), (Wikipedia, 2008) CONTENT State Government All states in Malaysia have their own government with a royal ruler or a Governor as head of state. They have their own Parliament which thay call the State Assembly. Members of the State Assembly are elected members are called Assemblymen. As in Federal structure, the leader of the winning party forms the government, with himself as the leader. In states with a royal ruler, these leaders are called Menteri Besar. And in other states, they are called Ketua Menteri. (Datuk Abdullah Ali, 2002) Constitution Selangor is a constitutional monarchy base on the 1959 constitution.
