If Given the Chance
It’s a requirement that we all go through. As some may perceive it and experience it differently, it is still the same foundation for each student to build upon whichever way they may choose. It is high school. Four long, treacherous steps leading up to the future we all anxiously await with nervous thoughts, and although some may graduate still not knowing what the next step is, others begin that first big day into freshman year planning their every move towards something bigger, something better. It’s up to the student to finish the work, put forth the effort and to complete the necessary actions to ensure when senior year comes around, and it is time to make life changing decisions, they have the credibility to continue their dreams. But the struggle with this is, when putting your foot outside the door to see if the shoe fits it’s ultimately not up to the student, their grades or achievements, its weighed heavily on the lifestyle and money situation of the parents, causing students’ to either swallow their aspirations and settle for less, or struggle to continue on to college, only to realize without the funding for their education they are left with few choices; either withdraw or work on top of school which can cause time conflicts with the student’s studies. With that being said, in order to increase enrollment and its students’ grade point averages, post secondary schools should be funded to offer free education to qualifying students.
Education in America has risen gradually due to inflation but in the last 5 year the substantial increase has caused a sense of panic for high school students whom have no means to afford this education. Those students whose parents earn more than enough to qualify for Governmental assistance but not enough to give their child the education that they want but more importantly deserve. Now, it is understandable that the Government is already allotting several million dollars per year to help...
