Sex Education in School
I believe sex education should be increased in schools in an attempt to curb problems such as teen pregnancy and STD’s. As well as educate young adults on the responsibility that comes along with having babies, furthermore the knowledge of STD’s and its consequences. If young teens knew more, they wouldn’t be put in situations along with their parents. Considering the parents are usually the ones that have to deal with their kids mistakes. Teaching more sex education in school will help young teens with knowledge about unplanned pregnancies, STD’s, and relationships.
Unfortunately, young teens are going to have unprotected sex regardless. If schools would teach more about sex in school maybe the percent of teen pregnancies would decrease. If young teens really knew how hard it is to be parent, I believe they would think twice about having sex. Part of the sex education class should be giving all the students a real life baby doll for forty-eight hours. I’ve heard and seen this real life baby doll work on a few people, which lead them to change their lifestyle. This would definitely benefit schools deeply.
If young teens knew they could die by having unprotected sex that might delay their choice to do so. Teaching more about STD’s in school would teach teens what could happen to them. They can be taught how to protect themselves, also how to get treatment if need be. If young people really knew the outcome of having sex one time, by someone with an STD they would think twice. It can ruin your life forever.
In addition, sex education needs to also teach about sex and relationships. How the two go together, the importance of healthy relationships and not healthy relationships. Also what the true meaning of sex and love is really about. As well as, all that comes with relationships, the good along with the bad. If society would stop painting this perfect picture of sex, like it is all over television, young minds would not be influenced...
