The issue of smoking cigarettes has left me in total disbelief and shock. I have many unanswered questions. Millions of people die each year from smoking cigarettes. I want to know why cigarettes are not against the law if they kill so many people each year. Up to 90% of smokers begin when they are below the age of 18 because of peer pressure and once they are addicted, they can’t stop because of chemical compulsion.

The World Health Organization fact sheet raises another issue about tobacco. It states that tobacco causes up 400,000 deaths each year - more than AIDS, alcohol, drug abuse, car crashes, murder and suicides. There is some good news, though. The proportion of children who have experiment with smoking has fallen from 53% to 39% in 2004.

In 1982, at Action on Smoking and Health (ASH), the government commissioned the first national survey of smoking among children and found that 11% of 11-16 year-olds were smoking regularly. They knew that smoking causes lung cancer or heart disease, so why did they keep smoking?

When two parents are smokers, there is a great possibility that the child will get bronchitis, pneumonia, asthma and other chronic respiratory diseases.

I hope that tobacco companies stop making cigarettes, because young kids need good health.

Please people, stop smoking! Nobody should be allowed to smoke. For the body, smoking is so abominable.[[www.ash.org.uk/html/factsheets/html/fact03.html ]

Nobody wants to die early because of smoking, Ask yourself - should the law give us the right to smoke?
