Should Abortions Be Legal or Illegal
One of the largest arguments in America history is Abortion. Whether or not if Abortions should be legal or illegal? Many women have used abortion to put a stop to the birth of a baby and always will no mater what the laws say or the majority of us think. When abortion is illegal, it can be unsafe and dangerous. Legal abortion is usual safe and not dangerous. Therefore, should abortions be legal and available for woman to chose or should abortions be illegal and women not have the option to chose?
According to Encarta Dictionary abortion is “an operation or other intervention to end a pregnancy by removing an embryo or fetus from the womb.” Women see this as a quick way to terminate their pregnancy. Abortion is a very difficult decision for many women but women have been making this decision for many years in America. As of the present time abortions are legal in America.
“Abortions is safe,” says Dudley (2002, ¶ 1). Susan Dudley is an advocate for the National Abortion Federation, a Washington, D.C. based abortion rights organization. Dudley argues that legal abortions are normally safe as where illegal abortions are not safe and dangerous. Dudley also discusses the potential physical risks with illegal abortions. According to Dudley (2002), in countries where abortions are illegal remains the leading cause for maternal deaths (¶ 1). Dudley believes that abortion is a harmless type of surgery. Dudley address since abortions have been legalized in 1973, women have benefited from the advance technology available in the medical field and now have access to better services.
