Simmons Case Study
The Simmons Case study discusses the change of the organization and implementation of the Great Game of Life program (GGOL). The GGOL was implemented in efforts to produce a way of life supportive of employees with emphasis on teams. The objectives of the GGOL program correspond to the mission of every organization and employee. This is the passage through life, the steady pursuit to remember each individual’s true potential, purpose and who they are at heart. The GGOL is a method intended to build enthusiasm with positive force while maintaining the culture of organizations (Kotter, 1994).
Simmons implementation of GGOL
Simmons did the right thing by implementing the GGOL program. Previously to the change, Simmons organization was working with a negative culture and profits. Once the GGOL program was implemented, change towards a positive culture of the organization drastically change profits with positive outcomes. Two reason changes were needed are one GGOL program is based on a model that is gainful to organizational development with a committed employees, creative origination, empowering leaders and satisfied customers (Casciaro & Edmondson, 2007). This method can lead to success for any organization. A program that promotes a culture of a team environment and growth, will lead to success.
Secondly this change would create an overall positive leadership and team building environment. Leaders understanding and participating in GGOL program before they are introduced to the organization is a great way to lead in the right direction. This provides a great understanding for leaders of what their employees would undergo and they will share the same knowledge, while providing respect for the program.
