It easy standing back looking in, just wondering what a person job description really consists of. Being a discharge planner at Warwick Manor and also a Med Tech for the same company, I have always had my hands full. When a patient would come to me and state that their counselor would not help them I also doubt how heavy their workloads were that they could not take a minute to assist a patient. After completing an internship over in the mental health department, I have the pleasures of seeing that they have a very heavy case load. I was able to learn how to complete interviews, do assessments, progress notes, emergency petitions, deal with community stress, doctor complaints, and still see patients on a walk in basics. Warwick Manor is a small drug/mental health facility that hold 60 patients. Located in East New Market, Maryland it sits back; down a long lane, which has trees on both sides of the driveway. If a person did not know that it was a drug rehab upon entering the lane they still wouldn’t have a clue. They once you get down the lane the scenery are beautiful. Flowers surround the front of the building with two beautiful waterfalls located on different sides of the walkway. Then as you walk around the side of the building looking towards the back, there is a small ocean from which you can see the back part of the Hyatt motel. Patients as they are called at Warwick Manor love the beauty of the place for ninety percent of them are from either Baltimore or Washington DC and don’t get too see this often. Being the non- profit organization that Warwick Manor is they are limited on how many charity beds that they gave to people who do not have insurance. A lot of the people that come into the rehab either have Maryland Medical Assistance, Delaware Medicaid, Commercial Insurance, or have an outside organization such as the health department funding them.
