In my opinion the advances in technology really helped society interact with the media. The first technology that changed America is the radio. The radio brought many new features that America was not used to back then. Before the radio it was only newspapers that showed people what was going on in the world. But when the radio was introduced it brought a whole new way people shared the news. They could advertise, tell the weather, talk about sports, and have an updated live look on what was happening at that minute. For example, when there is a hurricane coming, people could communicate on the radio and let the people near the hurricane know so they could leave, unlike the newspaper where the news is always a day old and it would be too late for the hurricane and that’s why the radio was so important.
The next technology that helped changed the way we live is the television. The television brought something in the 1960’s that people never had before. A real image. With the radio or newspaper people often had to imagine what that person sounded like or what a certain place looked like, But with the tv it gave them the answers. It was another good way to share the news like the radio but I think the most important thing that the TV brought was the ability to bring the whole family together and to have family nights. Just sitting home watching shows that related to their own family made kids get closer to their parents and it showed parents how to handle certain situations from watching their favorite celebrities deal with situations too.
The third advancement in technology that changed the way we live is the internet. It made looking up things easy and it became an answer to a lot of questions we have. The internet made the email, Facebook, twitter, and YouTube all happen and all of those are ways to communicate to everyone in the world.
