Explain and illustrate this with reference to examples drawn from at least 2 chapters from Book 1

There has been millions made from this and the Rift Valley has lost Sh70m to what is called bio-piracy, and this is not just something that is exclusively happening in Kenya, it has been reported that bio-piracy is also happening in Libya, Gambia, Uganda, Mauritius, Venezuela and Egypt. The following essay will explain and illustrate that social justice is neither the exclusive terrain of social welfare nor of crime control. Evidence will be drawn from Book 1, mainly focusing on chapter 4 and 5. The first example that will be used is from Chapter 5 and is about the deforestation of the Amazon rainforest, and the effects this has on people, animals and the environment. The evidence used will be from media resources. The second example is from Chapter 4 and this is about Hurricane Katrina, which was a category five hurricane that struck the Gulf of Mexico Coast and many others along the way before hitting New Orleans. Using personal accounts and the media as evidence to explain and illustrate. The third and final example is global markets and corporations, jeans, flowers and environmental degradation in Kenya. The evidence used to support this will be from newspaper extracts, showing that social justice is interwoven with issues of poverty and exclusion which are issues of social welfare and crime control.
