Racism

Throughout my life there have been many times that I had to deal with racism. I know I am not the only one either. Racism is all around the world and can cause many places to become segregated. It does not make any sense to judge people of a different culture, because of what they stand for. You can try as hard as you can to make realize that we are all equally the same but you can’t always get that point a crossed.
A prefect example of this in my family is my uncle. When has was in his mid forties he was diagnosed with a brain tumor. The doctor that did his surgery was an African American male. During the surgery the doctor had messed up a little with the procedure. After the surgery was over could not feel the left side of his face. After a couple days the doctor explained to him that the left side of his mouth is going to be paralyzed. When my uncle heard the news that the doctor messed up, he felt that it was because he was African American.
This is not the only reason why my uncle is a racist. For a while my uncle had worked at a prison in Pennsylvania. At the prison he worked at a large majority of the prison were African American. He would tell me stories when I was younger on how they would try starting fights with him because he was Caucasian. He felt that all African Americans were the same way. He only knew the ones that were in prison, which usually meant that they were not good people to begin with.
As I became older I realized that he just had bad experiences with African Americans and anybody could have treated him that way. I have tried to make him realize that it is not because of their race that they treated him like that, it’s the fact that they are in prison and they have nothing at all in life that is going for them so they try to bring other people down with them.
