Williams Colorado Technical University SOC205-Sociology 0901B-11 Professor Donald Ricker To define sociology, a person must understand what makes up sociology and how and whom it effects. Sociology has been defined as the study of how people interact with their social life, social change and the social causes and consequences of the human behavior (www.asanet.org). Easily, sociological is the study and classification of different societies. Sociology affects humans in ways that is still currently being study today. It studies how we as human view society and the affects of society and how those same effects will impact humans everyday life in the past, present, and future. Sociological perspective is also known as the sociological imagination and is often define as how sociologist examined and analyzed societies or groups and their views on their life, their beliefs, their surroundings, and the government (http://knowledgerush.com). There are three major perspectives used in sociology to assist sociologists with their studies of social phenomena. Reference the table below for the three most used perspectives and their usage. In reference to me applying sociological perspective to my everyday life, I am currently struggling with the conflict theory due to my husband being a soldier and will be leaving his family to go fight in Kabul in a few months. I know I am suppose to touch on all perspectives and how they effect me, but this is the one that hits home the most because, I am facing losing my other half and my daughters family. I feel that the war should have been focused Afghanistan and not Iraq. If this would have been done when the war initially started then, the war may have end along time ago but that is just my opinion and I am not sure if I answered the questioned correctly.
