Motivation Plan
Today’s competitive business world every organization has assorted workforce and each employee has particular emotions and motivations. The manager should understand the challenges involved in creating an effective workforce which include motivation, satisfaction, and performance of employees. Thus an effective manger must develop a plan comprising the motivation, satisfaction and performance of employees. And the manger should ensure that the plan having both manger’s and employees perception to enable the plan for a positive influence.
Motivation can be defined as it is a process which includes an individual’s intensity, direction and persistence of effort to achieve a goal (Robbins and Judge 2006, p.186). According to Merriam-Webster’s dictionary satisfaction is the “fulfillment of a need or want” and performance is the “execution of an action” or the “fulfillment of a claim, promise or request”. Hence a manger must utilizes the important aspects of motivation, satisfaction and performance with employees and the success of an employee as an individual or as team depends on these aspects. A manger can increase the employee’s satisfaction, motivation and performance only if he/she has a positive influence within their span of control.
For developing and evaluating employee performance, motivation and satisfaction a manger can use a several kinds of tools. These tools are employee survey, performance evaluation and team building that can be used for a positive and efficient work life balance. Compensation is one of the important aspects and it can be used as a reward for improved performance.
