The show follows four boys – Stan, Kyle, Eric and Kenny – in their adventures in South Park. South Park is a fictional small town located in the Rocky mountains of central Colorado, USA. The town has an assortment of characters such as students, families, school staff and other. The settings on the show include the local elementary school, bus stop, shops and businesses, all of which are similar to Fairplay, Colorado. As the boys form a group, they each have a specific portrait of their own. Stan is the average normal American kid while Kyle is the lone Jew among the group. These two boys are modeled after the creators of South Park, Parker and Stone. The two boys, Stan and Kyle, are best friends and their relationship is intended to reflect the real-life relationship between Parker and Stone. Eric is a loud, obnoxious and an obese boy whose attitude has resulted in ever-progressing rivalry with Kyle. Kenny, whose family is poor, is known by wearing his parka hood so tightly that it covers his face and muffles his voice. In first five seasons Kenny would die in nearly every episode and when returning in the next episode, no explanation is given. As events that are supernatural and extraordinary frequently happen in the town, the boys act often as the voice of reason while the event cause panic among the adults. The boys are also frequently confused about the behavior of their parents and often find their parents to have disorted views on morality and society.
Secondly, as I already mentioned, the creators of South Park are Trey Parker and Matt Stone. After meeting in film class at the University of Colorado in 1992, they created two animated short films with characters that later occured as the main characters in South Park. As their short films were very popular Parker and Stone began talks of developing a television series.
