Your Excellency Bishop Mar Mathew Moolakkatt, Reverend Father Stephen Vettuvellil and Father, my parents, brothers, and sisters.
I want to take this opportunity to speak on behalf of all the communicants. I would like to begin by expressing our deep thanks to Bishop Moolakkatt for taking time off your busy schedule to administer the Sacraments of Communion and Confirmation for us. These Sacraments are huge deep treasures in our spiritual lives that is crucial for us to live the life of Christ and what you did for us will not be taken for granted. The Eucharist is the cornerstone of the Church and the only ones given the grace to perform this miracle are the priests. Therefore I want to just say how much we appreciate the Achans for giving us our first communion. As well as you Bishop because the Holy Spirit is the one who will guide us on the righteous path and through the sacrament of Confirmation you have just confirmed us in the Spirit.
I wish to take this time to thank you all for your presence here to take part in this is milestone in our lives’ journey. I wish especially to give my sincere gratitude to all those who gave up their time and effort to make this special event not just possible but grand. I owe many thanks especially to our teachers; Stephen Achan, Johny Uncle, and my mom Siby who was our CCD teacher.
However, the people who truly deserve our thanks are none other than our parents who raised us with their blood and sweat into the children of God that we are today. We have parents because when God wants to comfort us by stroking our hair or wiping away our tears, He does this through our parents. He gave us our Pappa and Amma to show us how to really love, that is, to love without condition.
All my being and all my life given into the service of God will not satisfy all the love and gratitude I feel before the feet of the Lord. I was once told that God with all his wisdom and knowledge cannot answer this one...
