Spirituality and religion have become increasingly popular. They have begun to be referred to as separate and distinctive practices. These words convey different messages and meanings to different people.

Humans have always been trying to comprehend and explain the world. Since the dawn of man, humans have believed in gods. The purpose was to explain the origin of life on planet earth, understand various strange phenomenon, and give reasoning to an afterlife. The result gave life to religion and spirituality. The thrust for knowledge has allowed humans to uncover so many important discoveries. The discoveries led to many applications in helping us live better and longer like medicine.
This paper will define the meaning of spirituality, religion, and its application in health care. The paper will explain the similarities between them and the differences as well as their interconnection.
