Spiritual Warfare: The Temptation Of Jesus
Matthew 4:8
Again, the devil took Him up on an exceedingly high mountain, and showed Him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory.
So let me get this right…
The DEVIL took JESUS up on an exceedingly high mountain, to show Him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory.
The DEVIL took JESUS, the beginning and the end,
The DEVIL took JESUS, the CREATOR of the universe,
The DEVIL took JESUS, HIS CREATOR!!! (Pause)
Now I don’t understand how the Devil was so brave to take his creator up on an exceedingly high mountain, I don’t understand how the Devil was so brave to even go before his creator and say in verse 9: “All these things I will give You if You will fall down and worship me.
So not only was the devil brave enough to go before Jesus, the King of Kings, Lord of Lords, the RULER…(pause) over everything, he then goes on in verse 9 and tries to convince God to fall down and worship him…
Now I know the Devil isn’t stupid,
He knows JESUS is THE CREATOR,
He knows JESUS is HIS CREATOR, (pause)
Yet the Devil had the audacity to say to His creator,
All these things, this world, and all it’s wealth, all that the world has to offer, I will give You,
If You will fall down and worship me.
In a similar light, some of us are like Devils ourselves, in that we allow ourselves to be manipulated by the devil to want the Worship and the Praise that belongs to GOD!!!
He takes us to different heights in the church, weather it be; 1st Elder, Conference treasure, Personal Ministries Leader or the Worship Leader…
We use our spiritual gifts, talents and for some the knowledge we’ve gained from the world to try and steal Gods Glory, by offering Him our counterfeit “Worship and praise,” expecting to receive glory from our brothers and sisters.
EXPECTING people to “Fall Down,”
“Fall Down” like they are under us, on a different level to us, therefore should “Worship” us…
