The words highlighted in red show which parts of the paper were plagiarized; all the content in the paper were highlighted. If a student submitted this paper to me claiming it to be their own, I would take immediate action. I believe some students may find it a challenge to read material and transform the material into their own unique words, causing the students to copy sentences. Seeing the results from the report for this particular paper my first thought was this was a student lacking energy or time to finish the assignment on their own. This is unacceptable; students should allow themselves enough time to complete assignments without plagiarizing or stealing others material. My first course of action would be to explain the situation to the student, followed by the course of action I would be seeking. I would also explain why plagiarism is such a grave offense. This is what I would write to the student who plagiarized. Plagiarism is a very serious offense; it is also dishonest and inappropriate. Plagiarism needs to be taken serious by all students. There are many consequences and actions that can be taken against you for this offense. There are many reasons why plagiarism is a serious matter.
