As for my experience, I have joined Adventure and Recreational Club in my university. This club focused mainly on outdoor activities like hiking, camping, rafting and canoeing. By joining this club, all the members whom all are the students of the university can ensure their healthy lifestyle is maintained by doing this club’s activities. Being an undergraduate student, the students must be really busy in settling their quizzes, tests and examinations. Thus by joining this club will help students to increase their stamina as well as trained them to be a good leader while holding any position in this club. Apart from that as a group in a society, we tend to do activities together with student from different courses. This can lead the students to work in a team and help each other. As for those benefits, I have decided to join this club for this year.
If we want to relate this group with the stages of development that we had discuss in class, I strongly agree that the club is progressing according to the stages. Firstly it started with forming of the group. At the beginning of every year they will gather new members and hold their first meeting. During this stage, all of the members had decided whom to be the president and the committees. By doing this the members know they are in a safe and secure club which has their own leader to take care of the club and activities held. In addition, the members start to know each other for make it easier for them to work together later during club’s activities. Rules and prohibitions are stated so that any controversy and problems in club could be avoided.
During the first activities, several groups had been created and each of the club’s members is allocated in those groups. Each group is being assigned with different task and with people that they barely knew before. This is the stage of storming which we start doing works together and there are some misunderstandings and different expectations from each of the members...
