Strategic Plan Analysis
Each organization or company needs to have specific ways in which it can be evaluated. Many of these evaluation implements can provide valuable insight into the company. These include the organization's mission, vision, goals, and objectives. An organization's mission is “commitment to a type of business and to a distinctive role in the marketplace” (prenhall.com). The vision of the organization is where the organization want to be in the future. The goals represent the organization's plans with accomplishments for the short term, usually with a term of one to three years. The objectives, or what the organization is trying to achieve, should adhere to the acronym SMART. SMART is specific, measurable, attainable, realistic, and timely.
The management style at La Cantina Restaurant Bar & Grill is one that embraces Total Quality Management (TQM). Quality is affected by this style of management because it is a key element in the organization's strategic plan. In the difficult business of food and beverage service quality is something that the customer immediately recognizes. The feedback from that customer is immediate based on personal preferences. If he or she does not like the taste or flavor of a food or drink item, a subjective reaction, then they will likely complain, or worse, stop coming back to the restaurant. The end result of customer satisfaction is sometimes difficult to attain because of the subjective nature of the product.
When implementing the plan to provide quality products the plan also must have management's support. The value relates directly to the customer satisfaction based on quality. The product must be well designed and priced competitively. In developing an effective quality plan the creation of an attitude of quality needs to be established.
