Stress Management Paper
There are many different techniques to reduce the amount of stress you encounter on a daily basis. You have to find the right solution that fits your needs and relates to you the most. Not everyone is the same, just because it worked for your friend may not mean it will work for you. It is all about trial and error, select one technique at a time until you find one that suits you. Once you find one that works for you, dedicate the time and effort needed to keep at it and not fall back into your old habits. I chose to listen to music and sounds. I found it to be very helpful and relaxing.
I tried the listening to relaxing music for a week because it was easy and not time consuming. I would listen to the sounds of nature while I relaxed and fell asleep. I would relax my body and mind and let my thought float and change to the changes of sounds. When I heard the sounds of wind I would picture a kite flapping in the wind without a care in the world. I would try to picture and feel what the kite was feeling. When I heard the sound of waves hitting the shore I pictured the sand being slowly caressed by the ocean, like its own personal message. I pretended to feel the water slowly message my body starting at the feet then slowly moving up and down my body. With each pass it climbed higher and higher relieving all the pressures of my body from the day. When I heard the sound rain I pictured myself being washed clean of all the stress and anxiety of the day one drop at a time. It would start out as a slow sprinkle, little bits of stress being washed away until it turned into a down pour completely making me forget about the past day and the worries of the next. All in all I fell asleep easier and got a deeper more productive sleep allowing me to have a fresh start the next morning. I would wake up feeling refreshed and ready for the day ahead and all of the uncertainties...
