Friday night was a fairly eventful night. That night was my manager, Jose’s birthday and he was having everyone from work over at his house. I still had a lot of homework, so when I got off at six o’clock I walked home and started on it. It was very tedious and ever-so time consuming. I had completed a fair amount of homework when I peered at the clock and saw that it was eleven o’clock. Eegees closes at eleven, so I got ready.
Five minutes later I was out the door and starting the car. On the way I hit every red light, but it didn’t phase me because of the impending party. When I arrived at my Jose’s house, I circled it to be sure that I wasn’t wasting my time. There were a few cars that I recognized parked outside, so I parked behind one of them and walked up the driveway.
When I was walking up to the door there was music blaring, so I just opened the door slowly and walked in. I was greeted with cheerful yells and loud, drunken hellos. I walked into the kitchen and up to the table everyone was segregated at. There were five people standing around the table: Sergio, Johnny, Colt, Amber, and Jose. Beer cans and bottles were scattered everywhere. The table was covered with shot glasses, bottles, and bottle caps.
Jose insisted that I do a Jäger bomb. I tried to use the excuse that I had to drive, but Jose wasn’t taking no for an answer. He walked over to the fridge and pulled out a can of Redbull and a bottle of Jäger. He poured me a shot of Jäger and half a glass of Redbull, and I quickly drank both. Jose then got mad because he was pouring another shot for himself, and he had intended to take them together. Amber had worked her way to my side and was lightly stroking my hand as I leaned on the table.
I snuck a look at Sergio, who had also noticed, and asked her how much she had had to drink. She told me that she had a bottle before they left work. I knew she had more than that, because she was beyond drunk. Amber was trashed. I saw...
