Do you know how important healthy eating is for our health? Healthy eating is a way to balance your body to keep you strong and away for diseases. Good nutrition is basic for good health. Our body needs certain nutrients to feel well and important for reducing our risk for diseases like heart disease, cancer, diabetes and stroke. When you eat well, you are taking care of your body. The film “Supersize Me” and the book Mutant Message Down Under are showing us different diets. You will see how eating effects your body.
How many fast food restaurants do you think in Manhattan? There are 83 McDonald’s in Manhattan, plus other Taco Bell, Wendy’s, you name it. We are in too much of a hurry all the time and can’t go into a real restaurant. I recently saw the movie “Supersize Me” in my health class in college. In this movie, the narrator pointed out some facts of the McDonald’s. One out of four American eat McDonald’s daily. McDonald’s spends1.4 billion on the advertising a year and American child sees about 10000 food advertisements on television each year. To know how is McDonald’s food effect our health. Morgan Spurlock is experiment to eat McDonald’s for 30 days. Before its start, he found three doctors to give him medical supervision. Spurlock was dined at McDonald’s restaurant three times per days. He must eat item on the menu, any outside food is prohibited. He has to supersize the meal every time when he got asked. Three doctors keep check his body during this experiment. Starting the month, Spurlock’s weights is 185.5 pounds, he start his first meal near his home in Manhattan. When the first time he supersized he took 22 minutes to eat and vomit in the parking a lot. It can see a person doesn’t need that big meal. During the diets, Spurlock's girlfriend said it negatively affecting their relationships. Spurlock has lost much of his energy and sex drive during his experiment.
