I am a supporter of gay marriage. I believe that everyone should have equal rights. If the other side’s argument is doe religious reasons, then they shouldn’t allow people to marry that don’t practice religion. It should be equal to all, no one should be judge by others and told what they can or can not do. Their judgment day will come when it is their time. If there are laws protecting African American from predigest then there should be laws to protect all from the same kind of hatred.
If we were to legalize same sex marriage they would benefit the children that some couples are raising. With same sex couple unable to marry it prevent the child from be able to be claim by one of the parent. It prevents one of the parents from giving health coverage. That child is being loved and taken care of by these parents and it is unfortunate that the parents can’t give her all the benefits as another child with parent married.
Critics say that marriage's most fundamental purpose is to fulfill children's right to be raised by a mother and a father in a legally secure union. So this to me is saying that a same sex couple could raise a child just the same as a father and a mother. Gregory Koukl writes "Marriage is not meant to be a shortcut to group insurance rates or tax relief," Koukl continues. "It's meant to build families." Gay couples just want to be treated as an equal and given the same rights as everyone else. To say that they are just trying to get a short cut is closed minded and ignorant. There have been gay couples that have been together for years, longer then a lot of married people now a day. They should be entitled to the same rights as me and you.
At one time it was looked down upon by religious people when someone got a divorce. But now it is something very common and they are not treated different. This is like then, it is change. A person maybe afraid of it, but it is inedible. I really hope my children become straight, but if they are not then...
