Business vision
The business vision is to develop a waste management system that ensures proper recycling and utilization of waste by restaurants and fast food vendors. This system will be implemented on a strategic site near the target food outlets so as to minimize waste transportation costs. The system will also be tailored to the specific needs of each customer with regard to their waste disposal needs. The system will be implemented at locations within the United States and also in other countries (Benn and Bolton, 2011).
The business model
This is a large-scale business that targets the whole North-American region and even the rest of the world. The business requires a large capital outlay at the beginning, but profits can be realized as soon as the facilities are set up and operations start. The business model can be implemented in two ways. Firstly, for customers with extremely huge waste products, the company can design individual facilities that serve such customers. These facilities will belong to the customers and the company will only be involved in managing the site. Secondly, for customers with smaller waste products, they can use facilities, which belong to the company, these sites will also be managed by the company. The small customer will be charged for the waste recycled through the given site. These two products will be marketed through meetings with the executives at the target companies, this is because the product is not a mass market product (Alexander, 2007).
Competitive advantage
The competitive advantage of the product is its uniqueness in waste disposal. The product can be located at a site chosen by the customer. Currently, most waste disposal sites are located in areas far from where the customers are.
