Thesis statement: Research shows school uniforms benefit students, because uniforms have a positive effect on students and teachers, school environments become less competitive and more focused on learning, and uniforms encourage individual self-expression and boost school spirit.

This article points outs that school uniforms minimize distractions. Uniforms help the students to focus on their academics and not on their wardrobe. Uniforms keeps the students in class and the teachers spend more time teaching. Danielle Spanner has been writing since 2002 and teaches writing to students in Philadelphia. This article provides information on how uniforms have a positive effect on students and teachers. Teachers have more time to teach and students get less dress code violations.

This article points out one of the benefits of uniforms is a safer learning environment. Peer pressure is no longer an issue, because everyone is dressed the same. Grace is concerned about the current education crises, where public schools have been forced to work within debilitating budgets, and she also believes that significant education reform is needed in traditional public schools to help them educate our country's children to their fullest potential.  Uniforms help students keep their focus on academics.
